Orioles fan favorite Trey Mancini made his return to Camden Yards in Baltimore's home opener Thursday, his first home game since missing the 2020 season while battling colon cancer.

Baltimore faithful welcomed Mancini back to the field with a warm, lengthy ovation from fans and players alike.

In March 2020, Mancini revealed that he had a malignant tumor removed and would be out for the year while undergoing treatment for Stage 3 colon cancer. In November, Mancini revealed that he was cancer-free and was all systems go for the 2021 season.

Mancini, ever the classy guy, tried to divert some of the attention from himself, saying that proper praise and credit should be given to Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez for returning to the field in 2021, after he was sidelined with COVID-19 complications.

So not only has Mancini wrecked cancer, but he's destroyed pitching, mashing 35 home runs in 2019 with a 136 OPS+. Here's hoping that Mancini keeps crushing it in 2021.
